Next came the painted rocks. I also have Pinterest to blame for this project. It just seemed like a great thing to do with the zillions of rocks I have collected - paint face parts on them then draw faces in sidewalk chalk and mix and match. We had been invited to a BBQ at the home of friends who happen to have two of my favorite kiddos.. We had a great time drawing heads and making crazy faces. And now I have a bag of painted rocks which I can either save for the next party or dump into the garden.
Last, but not least, I've been painting needlepoint. A bit of custom, but mostly new designs for the big show in January. Here's a picture of a large custom rug I recently finished. It's in three pieces and will surround a baptismal font in a seasonally used church in New England. The flowers are local favorites, chosen by the customer.
(I finally found a use for all those cherry purses I can't sell). But mostly, the muse has been with me and I've been creating and painting. I hope you've had a great summer too!
